The Grade II listed landmark has been transformed into the Hyde London City, the brand's first hotel in the UK.

Located at 15 Old Bailey, the building was originally built in 1874 as the 'Spiers & Pond' hotel and latterly converted to office use in the late 20th Century.

Studio Moren acted as architects and interior designers on this conversion, bringing the building back to its original use as a hotel for our clients OB Capital, Boscalt and operator Ennismore.

“We are proud to have worked with Studio Moren. They have brought this iconic building back to life after 150 years, from an office and back to its original use as a hotel. Guests will be able to enjoy our vibrant energy, and its unique design.”

Alex Shamash Co-Founder at OB Capital

The hotel features 111 guestrooms, blending Victorian sophistication with the Hyde brand’s bohemian chic, a modern Turkish restaurant 'Leydi' and an underground speakeasy bar - 'Black Lacquer'; each destination offering a distinct ambience that complements the overall concept.

"We have embraced the design challenge of incorporating the building’s rich history while celebrating the contemporary vibrancy of the Hyde lifestyle brand."

Tom Thorogood Co-Head of Interiors at Studio Moren

Studio Moren's design concept and the elements throughout the hotel pay homage to the building’s storied past, incorporating Victorian-inspired colour palettes, bespoke furnishings, and rich textures that elevate the guest experience.

"This project has been a gift in the way in which we have been able to embrace the building’s incredible history through our transformation of its architecture and interior design."
