Quinta da Bolota Portugal

Shaped for Refined Relaxation

A
Architecture

Studio Moren was appointed to create a high-end self-contained resort that used the surrounding landscape as inspiration and blended seemlessly. Sustainability shapes the design, with Cross-Laminated Timber construction reflecting commitment to eco-friendly innovation.

Inspired by the Algarve’s natural splendour, the resort integrates seamlessly into its surroundings, minimising impact while maximising comfort and aesthetic appeal.

The new topography will create a sequence of public spaces and facilities, placing the main reception building at the top, all the way down to the outdoor amphitheatre.

Within this sequence of spaces, various resort amenities will be situated beginning with the multipurpose pool at the top, followed by the kids' pool and the resaturant terrace adjacent to the main adults pool.

Designed for self-sufficiency, the development integrates solar PV panels for on-site energy generation. Rainwater-harvesting flat roofs support grey water recycling, sustaining the landscape and non-potable hotel operations. Thoughtful architectural elements, including flowing timber structures and greenery-filled atriums, elevate guest well-being while reflecting the region’s stunning coastal rock formations.

The architecture adapts to the terrain with undulating balustrades and spaces, emphasizing and highlighting the current topography. The proposed materiality is selected to preserve and enhance the landscape of the context.

This resort redefines luxury, blending architectural elegance with the serenity of nature. Every villa and amenity harmonises with the Mediterranean landscape, creating a sanctuary where guests can unwind, reconnect, and embrace the beauty around them.
