Courtyard by Marriott Gatwick

This competition winning design for a new 220 bed hotel is located on a unique site, adjacent to a Grade 2 listed 16th Century cottage, at BAA’s Gatwick Airport. Given the sensitivity of the site our approach has been to design a clearly contemporary building, rather than a pastiche, to draw a clear difference between the two structures.

The interior design continues the approach taken for the exteriors and features a range of materials and elements which reference the surrounding environment.

“We have worked with Dexter and his team on a number of projects now and on each one we have received a first class, innovative and flexible service. Dexter brings a wealth of hotel experience and his creativity has added value to all of the projects he has helped us with; furthermore his laid back manner and good humour makes him a pleasure to work with.”
