Spartak Otkritie Arena Moscow

Home to Moscow’s Spartak Football Club, the Otkritie Arena also served as a key venue for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Studio Moren were appointed to design the Arena’s interior spaces, expanding on the concept for the façade and entrance pavilions.

The interiors concept places emphasis on improving fan experience and engaging with the architecture; flowing from the entrance pavilions, to the VIP lobby, to VIP and Presidential Suites, and finally, to spectators arriving at their seats. A bespoke contextual design was evolved to reflect Spartak’s strong identity, as well as the tradition and history of Moscow’s football club.

This was achieved by subtly incorporating the colours and shape of the Spartak diamond insignia, reinforcing the brand and venue identity. Red resin detailing resembling football tactic lines is etched into the VIP lobby flooring acting as a way finder for fans. In the VIP Lounge, a rich material palette translates the club’s graphics into an immersive experience of three-dimensional colour and form.

The Presidential Suite provides a destination lounge designed as a living room retreat with a central fireplace and views of the playing field. Sharp lines, faceted shapes and subtle colour variations are used in the VIP restaurant areas to create three separate food offerings, a platinum, gold and silver alternative.
